  “Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.” (William Woodsworth)  Three years ago, when I first started this blog, I wrote a post entitled ‘How to Keep a Journal.’ At the time of writing it, I was struggling with the idea of keeping a journal. There was something daunting about all those blank pages – I constantly felt as if I didn’t have the dedication and ideas to fill them all. But still, there was something about journaling that I just loved. It was so cathartic. No matter what you were writing about, you’d always feel ‘cleansed’ after every entry, as if you got a chance to pour out your thoughts or capture the moment you were writing about. I’m sure you have all heard about the perks of meditation from countless blogs, dedicated meditators who seem to never leave a state of ‘zen’, and maybe even your shrink. There are so many scientifically proven benefits to meditation and here are just a few: Meditation reduces stress/anxiety Meditation improves concentration Helps you feel more connected Leaves you feeling happier Improves functioning of your brain Helps you have a good night’s sleep Increases serotonin production which improves mood and behaviour Lowers high blood pressure Meditation, recently, has really picked up and it’s become much more popular in the Western culture. yoga (noun): a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation Now that summer is underway, I’ve had a lot more free time for myself recently and I’ve decided to devote all that free time to improving my well-being and really finding myself. It’s all about self-discovery and both spiritual and physical health. Throughout the year, we are so focused on work, and on checking all our “to-dos” off on the list. We spend hours seated at the desk, hunched over a computer, as we move from task to task, trying to force ourselves to work as quickly as we can.
