Summer 2017 European Getaway

Hey, everybody! It’s been a while since I’ve been on the blog but fear not! I am alive and well, thank you very much. I hope you are all having a splendid summer vacation so far, and if you’re still stuck in the office, hang in there! Your summer is right around the corner, and I hope you get to bask in summer’s short, but sweet glory very, very soon. This blog post is the official start of the newest series on lifewithjulia – the Summer 2017 European Getaway. Yes, we’re back in Europe again this summer. Not too hard to guess after all this time. I think this makes it the 5th summer in a row we’ve chosen to spend our precious summer stay in this beloved continent. There’s just so much about Europe – its history, the culture, the food (definitely the biggest reason), the sights, the natural…

Summer 2016 Norwegian Getaway

Hey everybody! It’s been quite a long while since I’ve written a post on lifewithjulia. My work load has been absolutely insane and to be quite honest, I’ve been a little stumped about what to write. The ol’ writer’s block,  you could say. However, I’m back with a post about my tentative summer 2016 plans! I hope you guys all have your summer plans “in the works” as well! When planning this trip, my family and I were a little indecisive. Stay home? Road trip to other places in Canada? Iceland? More countries in Europe? We just weren’t too sure about where to fly to. Then, we found the Norwegian Fjords cruise line and we fell in love with it, one fjord (and one Norwegian Viking) at a time. As always, we’ll be embarking on a Princess cruise because we’re all members of their established Captain’s Circle. The more we cruise…

The Wanderlust List

Craving adventure? You’ve definitely come to the right place. Especially on a dreary, bone-chilling, Canadian winter’s day, my mind wanders to all the tropical places I wish I could find myself in, in that very second. Mexico. Bora Bora. The list is endless. I’m constantly suffering from wanderlust syndrome; I’ve officially diagnosed it myself. That’s why I created this list- my very own Wanderlust List- so I can share with all of you the places where my mind wanders to in the coldest of days and in the worst of days. These are all the places which I hope to eventually travel to in the not-too-distant future; these are all the places I have day-dreamed about so often. Hopefully, this list will help you escape from whatever you are doing for a little bit. So kick back, relax, and enjoy the view. Let the wanderlust consume you. Your plane will be…

AND WE’RE OFF AGAIN

The stores are breaking out their red and green decorations. Christmas trees, with their garlands and ornaments, are making their long- awaited appearances. The mall is packed with those searching for the perfect gift. The smell of hot chocolate and holiday drinks lingers in the air everywhere. Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls are playing on the radio on repeat. As the Christmas holidays are approaching, I have finally finalized my Christmas vacation plans and I couldn’t be more excited. After my tedious adventure exploring the cities of Europe during the summer months, this is my chance to finally put up my feet and take a breather. To end off 2015, I will be going on a cruise around the Panama Canal (Full Transit) I’ve heard great things about these types of cruises and the amazement of the lock system so I thought December would be the perfect time to…

An Adventure Journal

Wanderlust~/ˈwändərˌləst/ a very strong and irresistible impulse or desire to travel the world. This is my last blog post before I leave for my trip to Europe next week, which is why I’ve dedicated it to all things travel. For my birthday, my friend bought me an “adventure journal”, which is a book where you can record all your most memorable adventures. This is PERFECT for anybody who loves to travel and travels often, like me! I just wish I had this book sooner! Most of the journal is filled with pages like the one above. There’s space to write each destination you visited, who you were with, what date you travelled, what you did, etc. There are also lines to write “the best of the best”, such as the best food you ate while you were there, the best attractions, the best places to shop, the best lodging, etc.…
