Discover Yoga: A Road to Self-Discovery

yoga (noun): a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation Now that summer is underway, I’ve had a lot more free time for myself recently and I’ve decided to devote all that free time to improving my well-being and really finding myself. It’s all about self-discovery and both spiritual and physical health. Throughout the year, we are so focused on work, and on checking all our “to-dos” off on the list. We spend hours seated at the desk, hunched over a computer, as we move from task to task, trying to force ourselves to work as quickly as we can. We rush off to meetings, or to run daily errands, rarely having a chance to really stop and take a breather. Discovering yoga was like discovering myself again, and…

The 5-Year Journal

Hey everybody! Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year’s! I rang in 2016 on my cruise to the Panama Canal so stay tuned for those blog posts coming up! For Christmas, my friend got me the Q&A a day Five Year Journal and I couldn’t be happier to share this with you guys. Last year, in February, I had my eye on this journal in the bookstore but I didn’t purchase it at the time because a month had already passed and I wanted to wait a year. I was ecstatic when I got it for a gift. If you feel like you’ve always wanted to keep a journal or just really love to write and reflect, this is perfect for you. How it works basically is that for every day of the year, (they even include February 29th for leap years!) they pose a question. It…

FALLING FOR FALL

Can you smell that? It’s the smell of fall. It’s finally fall and I’m so excited. The crisp fall air. Sweater weather. Lattes and cups of tea. The changing of the leaves. Warm, fuzzy blankets. Cozy candles. Pumpkin picking. Halloween. Everything is just perfect. My favourite part about fall is the weather. It’s not hot, but it’s not freezing like it is in the winter. You can sit outside wearing sweatpants and a sweater and feel just right. I don’t know how the fall season is where you guys are, but here in Toronto, Canada, the leaves are the best part. They’re a rainbow of leaves: red, brown, yellow, green. If you’re ever thinking of coming to Canada for a visit, come in the fall. You’ll love it. You’ll love it so much, you won’t want to go back haha. The above pictures were taken around Muskoka and the Algonquin Lakes…

ban.do planners- the best of the best

I’ve been searching for a good planner for a LONG time now, and I’ve finally found “the one.” I’ve decided to invest in the ban.do agenda. It’s a 17-month planner that goes from August 2015-December 2016. For 24 dollars, this is certainly a bang for your buck. As soon as you open the agenda, there’s an EXTREMELY cute sticker page. Some stickers are planning-related such as “Nail appt” or “Pool party”, while others are just for fun. They’re so adorable and it just brings a pop of colour to each page. My favourite has to be the chill pill sticker. The planner also comes with a holiday page, featuring some of the regular holidays such as Christmas, Easter, or Halloween, and some crazy holidays that no one knew even existed, such as National Pizza Party Day or National Pina Colada Day. Going through each holiday puts a smile on my…

Ways to De-stress

Prepare to say “Ahhh.” One word: Baths. If you’re ever feeling overly stressed and just want to let off some steam (I think this is everybody), all you have to do is run a bath, make some bubbles, and kick back and relax. Once you’re in the tub and you’re listening to some soothing jazz music, all your worries will just wash away. (haha get it?) I love to get all my bathtime products from LUSH Cosmetics. What I love about LUSH is that there are an endless amount of products to choose from. Every few weeks or so, they’re always coming out with new things. When taking a bath, I often opt for: Bath bombs (When the bathtub is filled, drop it in and watch it fizz and slowly start to disappear. Your bathtub will be filled with colour and depending on what bath bomb you get, your bathroom will…
