Is it Tea Time Yet?

Just yesterday, I went to this quaint little place on Main Street called “The Old Curiosity Tea Shop.” This place lets you have an “authentic Victorian tea room experience.” It’s a nice quiet place where you can go to eat some food, sip on some delicious tea, and have some lovely conversations with friends and family. Yesterday was my very first time going, despite the fact that I’m a regular at Main Street. It’s best if you make a reservation beforehand so you’re guaranteed a  seat. When making the reservation,  I ordered the “Afternoon Tea.” It was about $27 CAD per person and the Afternoon Tea is special because everything, other than the tea, is preordered for you. “The Old Curiosity Tea Shop” has over 50 different types of loose leaf teas, all of the best quality. There are fruit infused teas, classic teas, herbal teas, etc. You name it, they have…

Bon Voyage!

The countdown to summer has finally started, and I’m BEYOND excited. School is just about finished and that means one thing: freedom. I just finished confirming my summer plans and I’m happy to say that I’m going to be travelling back to Europe for about two weeks. If you still remember, I had a goal of 5 cities that I wanted to visit in 2015. The list included: Berlin, Reykjavik, Prague, Tokyo, and Amsterdam. Luckily, I’ll be able to cross off 2 of those cities on my list! The cities that I’m visiting this summer are as follows: Frankfurt, Germany Munich, Germany Vienna, Austria Prague, Czech Republic Budapest, Hungary Warsaw, Poland Oswiecim, Poland Amsterdam, Netherlands Belgium, Brussels Paris, France My family and I love to travel across Europe whenever we get the chance to. We love all the culture, the beautiful sights and the history. (Not to mention the food is AMAZING!)…

March for Life- Ottawa, Canada

“When I say PRO, you say LIFE! PRO! LIFE! PRO! LIFE!”  Just recently, I travelled all the way to my country’s capital for the annual “March for Life”. It’s a peaceful protest in which people walk to end abortion in Canada. This year’s slogan was, ‘let life win.’  25,000 people walked the streets of the city centre, holding signs that said things like, ‘Justice for the Unborn’ or ‘Women DO regret abortions,’ and chanting in favour of life. This is my 2nd year going and I really enjoy it! If you live in Canada and you’re within driving range of Ottawa, I do suggest you participate if you’re “pro-life.” Abortion is like the elephant in the room in Canada. It’s been legalised since 1969 in this nation. Is it morally wrong to kill a non-existent baby? Is the fetus or embryo even considered a person? Many people consider it to NOT…

PHHHOTO- My Favourite New App

I recently discovered this great new FREE app called “Phhhoto.” With the app, you can use their camera and it will take 4 or 5 consecutive pictures of whatever you want. It will then compile the pictures and play it repetitively, so it’s like a GIF. My friend told me to download it and once I had it, I couldn’t stop using it. When I went out, I couldn’t help looking for things to take pictures of, such as the cars on the road or pictures of my feet walking. It’s so much fun and what’s even better is that it’s similar to Instagram. You can follow your friends’ accounts, comment and like their pictures and even find new accounts that have amazing pictures. It’s very creative and I feel a sense of accomplishment each time I manage to post something really cool. This app is downloadable on the App…

Candles, Peace and Tranquility

I love candles, always have. Nothing makes me happier than to curl up on my couch, grab a good book to read, light a candle and simply, de-stress. I always like to say that candles are a practical replacement to a fireplace. They’re a lot cheaper and you can use it as a heat or light source in practically any room. Not only do they provide a sense of warmth, but they also have a great smell to them (if you opt for the scented candles) I love debating between which scent to choose at the store. The candles I light always go along with the season. If it’s Fall, I’ll go for a pumpkin scent. If it’s winter, I’ll go for a marshmallow, candy cane or pine tree scent. If it’s spring or summer, I’ll choose a lighter and more tropical scent. I get all my candles from Bath and Body…
