July Reads

Summer readin’, had me a blast. The month of July is almost over, meaning summer is slowly drawing to a close. With the amount of free time I now have, I managed to read 4 books this month and they were all AMAZING. I loved every single one of them. Below are the books I read this month, along with a very short review of them. 1. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (5/5)  I absolutely loved this book. I thought it was an incredible story of accepting the fact that you are gay and being PROUD of it, rather than trying to cover it up or “fit in.” A lot of the book is written in the form of emails between Simon and this mystery guy whom he is in love  with. The guy goes to Simon’s school and they’re in the same grade, however, he doesn’t want…

ban.do planners- the best of the best

I’ve been searching for a good planner for a LONG time now, and I’ve finally found “the one.” I’ve decided to invest in the ban.do agenda. It’s a 17-month planner that goes from August 2015-December 2016. For 24 dollars, this is certainly a bang for your buck. As soon as you open the agenda, there’s an EXTREMELY cute sticker page. Some stickers are planning-related such as “Nail appt” or “Pool party”, while others are just for fun. They’re so adorable and it just brings a pop of colour to each page. My favourite has to be the chill pill sticker. The planner also comes with a holiday page, featuring some of the regular holidays such as Christmas, Easter, or Halloween, and some crazy holidays that no one knew even existed, such as National Pizza Party Day or National Pina Colada Day. Going through each holiday puts a smile on my…

June Reads

I’m going to be trying this new thing where I’ll review and rate the books I read every month and let you guys know if they’re worth the read! I’ll try it out for a while and if you guys like these types of posts, comment below! There will be no spoilers, so don’t worry! This month I read 3 books (I could’ve read more but exams were taking up my time haha): Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse  Andrews Where’d you go, Bernadette by Maria Semple 1. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (4/5)  I am outcast. Speak is a very popular book with a storyline that resonates among both teens and adults. The main theme, which is evident judging from the book title alone, is all about having the courage to speak up for yourself. Something horrible happened to the main…

Ways to De-stress

Prepare to say “Ahhh.” One word: Baths. If you’re ever feeling overly stressed and just want to let off some steam (I think this is everybody), all you have to do is run a bath, make some bubbles, and kick back and relax. Once you’re in the tub and you’re listening to some soothing jazz music, all your worries will just wash away. (haha get it?) I love to get all my bathtime products from LUSH Cosmetics. What I love about LUSH is that there are an endless amount of products to choose from. Every few weeks or so, they’re always coming out with new things. When taking a bath, I often opt for: Bath bombs (When the bathtub is filled, drop it in and watch it fizz and slowly start to disappear. Your bathtub will be filled with colour and depending on what bath bomb you get, your bathroom will…

Seeing things through a new lens

Just yesterday, I bought my very first “professional” camera! In my previous posts, I was always using my family’s camera (the Nikon D800). It took AMAZING pictures, however, since I was starting to really emerge myself into the blogging atmosphere, I wanted my own camera. So I’m happy to say that I bought the… drumroll please… Nikon D5200! What I love most about this camera is that its size is extremely convenient. Unlike the Nikon D800, the D5200 is light, portable and very easy to use. The camera fits right into my hands and the body of the camera isn’t too bulky, either. The lens that I have is an 18-55mm one. I’m so excited to start using this camera. This summer, when I travel back to Europe, I’ll be able to take a ton of pictures. Before I start diving into the world of photography, I still need to…
