The 5-Year Journal

Hey everybody! Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year’s! I rang in 2016 on my cruise to the Panama Canal so stay tuned for those blog posts coming up! For Christmas, my friend got me the Q&A a day Five Year Journal and I couldn’t be happier to share this with you guys. Last year, in February, I had my eye on this journal in the bookstore but I didn’t purchase it at the time because a month had already passed and I wanted to wait a year. I was ecstatic when I got it for a gift. If you feel like you’ve always wanted to keep a journal or just really love to write and reflect, this is perfect for you. How it works basically is that for every day of the year, (they even include February 29th for leap years!) they pose a question. It…

AND WE’RE OFF AGAIN

The stores are breaking out their red and green decorations. Christmas trees, with their garlands and ornaments, are making their long- awaited appearances. The mall is packed with those searching for the perfect gift. The smell of hot chocolate and holiday drinks lingers in the air everywhere. Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls are playing on the radio on repeat. As the Christmas holidays are approaching, I have finally finalized my Christmas vacation plans and I couldn’t be more excited. After my tedious adventure exploring the cities of Europe during the summer months, this is my chance to finally put up my feet and take a breather. To end off 2015, I will be going on a cruise around the Panama Canal (Full Transit) I’ve heard great things about these types of cruises and the amazement of the lock system so I thought December would be the perfect time to…

FALLING FOR FALL

Can you smell that? It’s the smell of fall. It’s finally fall and I’m so excited. The crisp fall air. Sweater weather. Lattes and cups of tea. The changing of the leaves. Warm, fuzzy blankets. Cozy candles. Pumpkin picking. Halloween. Everything is just perfect. My favourite part about fall is the weather. It’s not hot, but it’s not freezing like it is in the winter. You can sit outside wearing sweatpants and a sweater and feel just right. I don’t know how the fall season is where you guys are, but here in Toronto, Canada, the leaves are the best part. They’re a rainbow of leaves: red, brown, yellow, green. If you’re ever thinking of coming to Canada for a visit, come in the fall. You’ll love it. You’ll love it so much, you won’t want to go back haha. The above pictures were taken around Muskoka and the Algonquin Lakes…

I AMSTERDAM- European Adventure 2015

And so we fly to Amsterdam next. This is another city I get to cross off my 2015 travel bucket list, making it 2/5. I’m so in love with Amsterdam and I think it’s because it’s like a more modern version of Venice, Italy. The canals. The tightly knit buildings. The serenity of it all. I only regret not going in April-May when the tulips are in full bloom. Nonetheless, it was amazing and I’m so glad I got the chance to go. Before even getting to the main city of Amsterdam, my tour bus took me to Zaanse Schans, a neighbourhood filled with windmills (one of Amsterdam’s most famous sightings). Amsterdam is also very famous for its wooden clogs, so we visited a museum where we watched a demonstration on someone showing us how wooden clogs are made. Zaanse Schans is just a stone’s throw away from the heart…

OH SO CZECH- European Adventure 2015

Finally. A city I can cross off my travelling bucket list for 2015. Prague was everything that I thought it would be; if not more. I got to stay in Prague for about a day and a half. I so didn’t want to leave in the end. While I was there, I spent most of my time walking along Charles Bridge, the most famous bridge in Prague. I also took some time to just walk around the Old Town Square and people-watch (locals can be very interesting) If you go, I strongly suggest going up to the top of the Old Town Hall. One of the reasons Prague is so beautiful is because of its red and yellow buildings. Once you’re a the top, you get to see all that from a bird’s-eye view. It’s absolutely breathtaking and no matter how many bird’s-eye views you’ve seen, I can guarantee this one…
