Ways to De-stress

Prepare to say “Ahhh.” One word: Baths. If you’re ever feeling overly stressed and just want to let off some steam (I think this is everybody), all you have to do is run a bath, make some bubbles, and kick back and relax. Once you’re in the tub and you’re listening to some soothing jazz music, all your worries will just wash away. (haha get it?)

I love to get all my bathtime products from LUSH Cosmetics. What I love about LUSH is that there are an endless amount of products to choose from. Every few weeks or so, they’re always coming out with new things. When taking a bath, I often opt for:

  • Bath bombs (When the bathtub is filled, drop it in and watch it fizz and slowly start to disappear. Your bathtub will be filled with colour and depending on what bath bomb you get, your bathroom will smell AMAZING.)
  • Bubble bars (Before filling your tub up, crumble up the bubble bar and leave it at the bottom of the empty tub. When the running water hits the crumbs, it will create TONS and TONS of bubbles.)
  • Bath melts (Drop it into a filled tub and watch it melt. It will leave your skin feeling super soft and smooth.)

My favourite thing to use is the bubble bar. They come in different shapes, scents, colours and sizes. I love the Brightside Bubble bar. It costs about 11 dollars CND and what’s great about bubble bars is that you can divide them up into about 4 pieces. That means they can last 4 baths! This bubble bar makes the water turn bright orange and it smells very citrusy. I think I’m obsessed with it. Asides from using bathtime products, I love to light a candle and listen to music while soaking in the tub. I have Bluetooth speakers that I put beside the bathtub and I’ll just have a playlist on shuffle. The candle helps make everything more “cozy” and provides added warmth. If you haven’t ever really taken a bath before, I strongly advise you do! Trust me, you will LOVE it.

My second favourite way to destress is to drink a nice hot beverage, whether it’s a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. It really calms me down and it helps me to relax.

Other than baths and hot drinks, I also like to read, watch some TV, or just play a game on my phone. Entertainment can help to take your mind off of things. Even though the thing that is stressing you out won’t go away, you can definitely give your mind a rest and take a well-needed break.
